What is #SheffieldBizBlog, and what can it do for me?

An explanation of how to use the hashtag

I have started this hashtag, #SheffieldBizBlog, on my social media channels as a way of reaching out to other businesses across Sheffield. As a business that provides services to other businesses, aiding them with their online presence, I feel that I need to support those businesses online as much as I can.

Sharing Content

When we share your website content on social media, search engines recognise this and it helps your ranking. Blogs are often great content to share, so if we, as businesses within Sheffield, get together and share each other’s content, it will push our websites up the Google rankings. Besides, reading each other’s blogs will also mean we get to know each other too.

How should we share our blog?

Firstly, write a blog piece, when you have finished, post a link to the blog on your Facebook or Twitter account. Add the hashtag #SheffieldBizBlog. I will find your link via the hashtag, go and read your blog on your website and then share it from your website on my Twitter or Facebook Page. This creates a link, which the search engines see.

How can I help other businesses?

If you see #SheffieldBizBlog on a link to a blog, go and read it, if you like it, share from the website on your Twitter or Facebook account. If you also add #SheffieldBizBlog it will be seen again. I hope that then, more people will share the blog, more links will be created, and the search engines recognise it again.

It only takes a few minutes to read a blog, post it on social media, and if we work together on this project, not only will Sheffield businesses benefit from higher rankings, but we will also have a community of businesses that understand each other more.
